Lipodissolve/Mesotherapy

Lipodissolve, also known as lipolysis or mesotherapy, is a minimally invasive procedure that involves a series of chemical injections with short, fine needles that target the middle layer (or mesoderm) of skin for treatment and reduction of small fat pockets. The procedure intended to reduce fat with a series of injectable drugs known as phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, also called PCDC.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) most commonly used agent for fat cell lysis affecting the permeability of the adipocyte membrane for fat mobilization. Deoxycholate or DC breaks down the fat, whereas phosphatidylcholine, or PC, helps with digestion and removal of the broken-down fat. The fat loss experienced with lipodissolve is permanent.

Typically, most patients will need 3-5 sessions about a month apart for the best results.

Lipodissolve is not FDA-approved. However, each component of PC/DC is FDA-approved for other indication. The main substance in Lipodissolve, PC/DC, is made by compounding pharmacy. The PC/DC is typically made by a FDA-registered 503a or 503b facility.
